Historia giveaway: the 2022 HWA Gold Crown Award shortlist

3 April 2023 By Editor

Historia is giving away all six books shortlisted for the 2022 HWA Gold Crown Award to two lucky winners!

Our judges said: “These six books represent everything marvellous in historical fiction. Between them they cover a cast sweep of human history; from Sarmatia in the second century AD to rural 1980s Ireland. All of them share a remarkable ability to move, to inform and to grip their readers from the first page to last.”

(And the 2023 HWA Crown Awards are open for entry until the end of this month — 30 April, 2023. Details are at the bottom of this page and full information is on the HWA website.)

The two winners of our HWA Gold Crown Award shortlist giveaway will each receive:

Small Things Like These by Clare Keegan
A Winter War by Tim Leach
The Fortune Men by Nadifa Mohamed
The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley
The Great Passion by James Runcie
Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead

The giveaway is open until 11.59pm on Wednesday, 12 April, 2023.
